DATE POSTED: 05/03/2023 JOB TITLE: REGISTERED PROFESSIONAL NURSE III RECRUITMENT NO: KCH 23-150 (Permanent/Part Time, 90% FTE) JOB LOCATION: KONA COMMUNITY HOSPITAL – Critical Care Float Pool SALARY RANGE: $8,643 (SR-20; BU:09) JOB DUTIES: The function of the Critical Care Float Pool is to coordinate relationships of nursing services with other departments.
Provides managerial assistance to nursing units.
Evaluates patient care and plans for current and future needs.
Provides nursing care to all patients: Emergency Services, Intensive Care, PACU/Short Stay.
The Critical Care Float Pool Registered Professional Nurse coordinates nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with other staff and departments in maintaining standards of nursing care; follows established policies, procedures or specific instructions.
This position may be required to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK SHIFTS AS NECESSARY BASED ON HOSPITAL OPERATIONS; SERVICES ARE PROVIDED 24/7.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS ARE: Applicants must meet all of the following requirements.
Please note that unless specifically indicated; the required education and experiences may not be gained concurrently.
In addition, qualifying work experiences are based on a 40-hour work week.
EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
While not required, graduation from an accredited nursing program with a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university is highly desirable.
EXPERIENCE: One-half (1/2) year of progressively responsible professional nursing work experience in both emergency services and intensive care setting where the employee independently provided nursing care to patients.
Such experience must have been gained within the last two (2) years.
CERTIFICATION: Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Health Care Worker required at the time of appointment, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification are required within six (6) months of employment.
Critical Care Course (CCRN) preferred.
LICENSE: Possession of a current license to practice as a professional nurse in the State of Hawaii.

STEPS TO AN ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEW, SUBSEQUENT APPEALS: If you do not agree with a decision made by the Employment Office as to your non-qualification or non-selection for a position, you may complete a Request for Administrative Review form (available on the HHSC website) or you may submit a written request within twenty (20) days from the date of your sent notice to the Regional Chief Executive Officer/Designee.
Your letter requesting the Administrative Review must include 1.
The job title(s) and recruitment number(s), 2.
the specific reason(s) you are requesting the review noting if there is a statute or rule violation, and 3.
any additional information you want to submit to substantiate your request.
If you do not submit your request within the twenty (20) days deadline, no Administrative Review will be conducted.
Since the Administrative Review is a prerequisite to subsequent steps, failure to utilize this process will make you ineligible for subsequent appeals.
The administrative review, formal complaint and/or appeals hearing will not necessarily postpone the recruitment process and/or rescind a selection.
If you do not agree with the Administrative Review, you may file a Formal Complaint and then, if you are still not satisfied, you can appeal to the HHSC Merit Appeals Board.
