ABOUT THE POSITION
Hawaii Preparatory Academy is currently seeking an experienced educator to fill a position within our World Languages Department for the 2024 - 2025 academic year.
The Chinese Language teaching assignment will include one section of Mandarin level II and one combined section of Mandarin III & IV.
The ideal candidate should be competent to teach a range of non-native beginners, Chinese heritage speakers, and AP-level Chinese.
The ideal candidate will have at least three to five years of experience teaching Mandarin at the middle or high school level and a degree in a related discipline.
Experiences with boarding schools and coaching are preferred.
HPA's Upper School teachers are expected to teach, advise, and lead students according to HPA's curriculum and mission.
Our teachers work with students to continuously develop the skills, attitudes, and knowledge required to make effective college, career, and life choices.

Qualifications:
High School teaching experience
Proven ability to collaborate with other teachers of the same course, department, and whole faculty
Desire to work as a team player with faculty, staff, and administrators
Ability to interact professionally with parents and community members
Maturity and personal stability sufficient for a demanding position
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
