We can’t wait to meet you! Under the direction of the Visitor Center Manager, the Sales Associate provides excellent customer service to visitors including but not limited to sales and product information.
The Sales Associate keeps the Mauna Loa Macadamia Visitor Center (MLMVC) well-stocked and maintained.
The Sales Associate ensures accuracy when handling cash, taking inventory, and keeping records.
The Sales Associate performs opening and closing of the Visitor Center as needed.
Customer Service (70%): Provides a bespoke service experience.
Greet visitors, serve samples, answers questions, and direct visitors to the processing plant, the nature walk, snack bar and to the video.
Sells food/non-food product – macadamia nut and non-macadamia nut products to visitors and employees.
Operates POS and reconciles cash at start and end of shift.
Provides scripted, guided tours through the garden and factory windows, weather permitting.
Must be friendly, approachable and have a positive customer service attitude.
Makes all customers the priority.
Store Inventory (20%): Keeps MLMVC displays well stocked and attractively merchandized with products.
Maintain a daily record of all product samples and promotional goods used/distributed.
Determine inventory needs and prepares requisitions for MLMVC merchandise and supplies.
Takes inventory in the Visitor Center, back office, and storage areas.
Housekeeping (5%): Keeps all areas (including, but not limited to any adjacent storage, office, and outside areas) of the MLMVC neat, clean, uncluttered, and safe at all times.
General (5%): Receive supplies from vendors and notify MLMVC management team of any discrepancies.
Notify MLMVC management team of any product or supply shortages.
Provide prompt notification of all malfunctioning equipment or safety concerns.
Assist visitors with send sales (including preparation of shipping labels and mailing it out) – visitors will be able to physically pay for product while in the MLMVC and have it shipped to their desired location.
Must be able to prepare food products for customer consumption, while following food safety procedures (i.
e.
, hot coffee, ice cream, and other various food products).
Maintain daily records as required.
Other Responsibilities: Observes all safety and health policies and procedures.
Special precautions to observe proper lifting and carrying techniques.
Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Regular attendance is required for the position.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must have High School level reading, writing, and math skills.
Must have at least one (1) year of retail experience; preferably in a food retail environment.
Must be able to bring our brand to life and create exceptional experiences for our guests visiting from all over the world.
Must have strong verbal, interpersonal, multi-tasking, attention-to-detail, and customer service skills.
Able to work rapidly and accurately.
Ability to work as part of a team, collaborates with co-workers, managers, vendors.
Must be willing and able to work flexible schedules to meet the needs of the business, including holiday, weekend, and night requirements.
