Pearl Harbor Attack Ship Lantern Salvage (Hilo Side)

Offering this authentic ship lantern salvaged during the clean up after the attack on December 7, 1941.
My step dad gave it to me and said, “His father who survived the attack got this during the salvage operations; but didn’t know from what ship.
” No documentation, that’s all I know.
A serious collector should be able to identify item upon further inspection.
